If we win that award, (hopefully the Peterson Fire Apparatus Award) it'll mean that we won the award for having the best fire truck, in AACA's 75th anniversary, and we were nominated in the community that the truck was delivered new to, at a meet that I worked very hard on. In another 5-6 weeks, we're going to find out if we won a national award with that same truck. What made it even more meaningfull was being that we're both retired Army, and we did it on armed forces day in a town that has a long history of hosting a lot of good meets during the 75 years of AACA. The company has also developed the Engine One website as an archive of articles, photographs and documents related to the pumper and its service to the Village of Larchmont.We have two American LaFrance trucks, but nothing that is as old as yours. Company members acquired uniforms based roughly on those worn in the Civil War era by the Fire “Zoaves.” They march in parades with the pumper, dressed in bright red jackets, black slacks, white spats and red illuminated helmets.
